If you have the gift of life
Give thanks each day before the night
Use your talents for the many
Give to receive as St Francis said
So say your prayers before you go to bed
Seek not reward but put smiles on faces
Of those in need and marginalised
Keep them safe, healthy and well fed
Count your blessings every day
In sleeping, waking, work, work, rest and play
Love your neighbour as yourself
Honour your mother and your father
Love your brothers, sisters too
Welcome dawn with open arms
Open mind to worldly charms
Nurture Nature our great provider
Light and life from every seed
Colours of spring and every bulb
Born from simple slime and mould
As the dawn approaches
And energy spent
We thank our God, for blessings sent
